As seen in this tutorial, replacing the lambda sensor in a Smart ForTwo 453 is an extremely simple and quick task. Before proceeding, wait for the engine to cool completely to avoid burns. Start by opening the boot, then remove the floor panel to access the engine compartment. Since space is very limited, you can make the job easier by removing the bumper by unscrewing the various indicated bolts. Once done, unscrew the sensor with a 22mm spanner, disconnect the connector, and install the replacement by following the reverse procedure.
