One of the most common problems on Smart 450 is the replacement of the cable to open the car from the outside handle, in this short video you will find out how to carry out this tedious operation. First of all, make sure that you have purchased the correct new cable from a reputable dealer. Then first, remove the outer handle bezel and you will be able to see the cable in question. To carry out the operation it will be necessary to replace the worn cable without breaking the tabs of the white clip that holds it firmly to the external handle. So remove, on one side, the cable from the spring system inside the door, while the other side by detaching the entire white clip. You will then remove the cable from the clip with a small screwdriver, taking care not to break the tabs, replace the cable and re-fit it to the spring system.
