How to replace the key battery of the Smart Fortwo?

The key for the Smart Fortwo 451 is completely analogue, which simplifies the procedure required to replace the button cell battery inside. You will only need a standard flathead screwdriver (preferably small). Insert the tip of the screwdriver into the gap between the top cover and the back cover and open it. Remove the electronic component, and just below, you will have access to the exhausted battery. Simply replace it with a new one, and finally, correctly reposition all the components removed earlier.
