How to Reset the Service Light on a Smart Fortwo 453

To reset the service light on a Smart Fortwo 453 after completing the service, enter the car, close all doors, and turn the key to position 1. Depending on the version, the button to press may be on the left side of the dashboard or on the lever to the right of the dashboard, located on the end of the stalk. Press until the message "Message and Service" appears. Press the button again until the message starts to flash. Hold the button for 20 seconds. At this point, the new service interval will appear. Return the key to position 0.
