How to reset the gearbox on the Smart?

In the event that we encounter malfunctions in the automatic gearbox of our car, or rather three dashes appear on the display instead of the letter N, we can proceed as follows to carry out the reset. The problem can be solved using the diagnostic tool, but it must support the guided diagnostic function for the error code encountered. In this case the instrument gives a series of indications which describe the following procedure: - ensure that the battery voltage is regular; - turn on the ignition; - put the selected in "N"; - press the pedal for about 5 seconds. If the procedure is started regularly, a sequence of adaptations of the electric gearbox starts: in fact, a noise is heard from the actuators of the transmission that works and they readjust the neutral position. Al, the letter “N†will appear on the instrument panel and it will be possible to start the engine.
