How do you replace the windshield wipers on the Smart ForTwo?

In order to replace the windshield wipers of the Smart ForTwo, you need to lift the small plastic cover at the base of the arm that controls the movement of the wiper blade. Once this cover is lifted, you can loosen the underlying nut so that the entire unit consisting of the arm and blade can be detached. Once both parts have been removed, you can position the new arm and blade in their respective housing and secure them with the corresponding nut. After installation, the same process can be done on the other side.
