How to replace the battery of the Smart Fortwo key

Model: Smart Smart 450 - Years 1998-2007

We insert a screwdriver with a metal tip into the top part of the key and then open the key of the Smart Fortwo, a model produced from 1998 to 2007, into two parts. After opening the key, we proceed with the battery replacement and insert a CR2032 in place of the worn-out battery. We close the remote control and as a final test of the replacement, we go near the vehicle to test the key's functioning by opening and closing the vehicle. If the key does not work, it may be necessary to reprogram the key itself by getting into the vehicle and turning the ignition on and off multiple times with the doors closed and locked.
