To replace the alternator on a Suzuki Swift, it is essential to start by disconnecting the battery to ensure safety during the process. Once the battery is isolated, proceed to remove the drive belt that connects the alternator to the engine.

To do this, you will need to loosen the tensioner, allowing the belt to slacken and be easily slipped off the alternator. Next, locate the mounting bolts that hold the alternator in place and carefully unscrew them.

After removing the bolts, disconnect the electrical cables connected to the alternator, taking care to remember their positions for reassembly. With all electrical connections and bolts removed, extract the alternator from its housing and replace it with the new one, positioning it correctly.

Refit the bolts to secure it tightly, and reconnect the electrical cables in their respective positions. Now, reinstall the drive belt, ensuring it is properly tensioned, then reconnect the battery.

Once the installation is complete, start the vehicle and check that the alternator is functioning correctly.
