Replacing the Front Brake Pads on a Sym Bonus 110

Use an Allen key to loosen the bolts that secure the pads and a socket wrench to unscrew the two screws that fix the caliper to the brake disc. Remove the caliper from its seat and further unscrew the two screws related to the pads until they are completely removed (they are quite long).

Extract the pads from the caliper and expand the pistons that hold them before inserting the new pads, which will obviously be much thicker than the ones removed. Proceed in reverse to reassemble the caliper and mount it back onto the disc.

As you can see, this is a relatively simple operation.

In the case shown in the video, the new keys are not recognised by the ECU: the Vespa starts but does not run (thus the immobiliser is active). The solution shown in the video involves locating the immobiliser chip in the old key (the one recognised by the ECU). Open the cover on the key (only red master keys or some blue ones), remove the chip (which is a small black cylinder or rectangle), insert it into the new key in place of the new one, and try to start. Now the key will work. If the master key is red, it will definitely work. If it is blue, it might work: you need to cut the silicone; this is possible but a delicate operation. If it is a black clone key, then it is a system that does not work.
