How to Change the Oil in a SYM Mio 100 Scooter

This tutorial shows you how to change the oil in a SYM Mio 100 scooter, a very simple and quick operation. Before proceeding, wait for the engine to cool completely for safety, then place a container underneath the scooter and, using a 17 mm socket, unscrew the drain bolt.

Allow all the oil in the engine to drain out, remove the filter, and clean it of any residue. Now, you can tighten the bolt and add the required amount of oil through the hole on the top side.

In the case shown in the video, the new keys are not recognised by the ECU: the Vespa starts but does not run (thus the immobiliser is active). The solution shown in the video involves locating the immobiliser chip in the old key (the one recognised by the ECU). Open the cover on the key (only red master keys or some blue ones), remove the chip (which is a small black cylinder or rectangle), insert it into the new key in place of the new one, and try to start. Now the key will work. If the master key is red, it will definitely work. If it is blue, it might work: you need to cut the silicone; this is possible but a delicate operation. If it is a black clone key, then it is a system that does not work.
