Start the engine for a few minutes to warm the oil, making it less viscous and easier to drain. Position a container under the engine oil filter area and open the drain plug with a 17mm spanner. While the used oil drains, unscrew and remove the filter cover, then extract the filter itself. Before fitting the new filter, remember to lubricate it and ensure it is seated correctly. You will need approximately 1.2 litres of new oil, which you will add through the upper fill hole after collecting all the used oil and closing the lower hole, just as you will have closed the cover of the new filter.
