How to mount the rear bike rack on the Toyota Auris

In this video we see how to mount the original Toyota bike rack on the Auris. To proceed with the installation, it is necessary to have installed the tow hook, or at least the ball: this way we can transport up to three bicycles. Clean the tow ball and align it horizontally and vertically with the bike rack. Turn the fixing handle clockwise firmly to secure the bike rack until it closes, then insert the plug and rotate it ninety degrees to reach the cap. It will be necessary to request a repeater plate to be installed on the bike rack, which can be fixed with its clips. Slide the two wheel holders to align them with the bicycles and then pass the securing straps. Load the heaviest bike first with the chain on the side and secure it firmly, then position the second bike in the opposite direction. With the bike rack loaded, it is still possible to open the tailgate using the handle located on the device and moving the bike rack forward; once we are done with the trunk, simply move the bike rack forward and everything will be back in place. Before departure, check that the lights on the bike rack are working properly. During long journeys, check the bike rack installation every two hours. Pay particular attention in reverse due to the increased length of the vehicle. The weight of the bikes must not exceed 36 kg for two or 45 for three, and a single bike must not weigh more than 20 kg. Tandems cannot be transported, and the automatic trunk opening must be disabled when using this accessory.
