Dismantling and repairing the cabin light of the Toyota Auris

Over time, the metal tabs that hold the bulb holder (or act as contacts) lose their tension. This creates a "play" and the electrical contact becomes unstable, causing the cabin light not to turn on when you open the door or to turn off and on by itself. The cabin light is secured by a plastic clip: lever it with a flat screwdriver, disconnect the connectors, locate the tab that no longer makes contact, and bend it slightly upwards, but without bending it too much to avoid breaking it. Reinsert the bulb holder in its place and twist it to secure it. Now you should hear a decisive "click", reconnect the connectors, and reposition the cabin light.
