Replacing the Rear Axle Bearing on a Toyota Yaris

To replace a rear wheel bearing on a Toyota Yaris sedan, follow these steps: remove the wheel and take out the rear brake drum. Using a socket wrench, unscrew the four bolts that secure the brake assembly to the axle, being careful not to damage the brake. Use a lubricant to help extract the bearing assembly from the brake and pull the bearing outward until it is completely removed. Take the new bearing and insert it onto the brake, then reposition the brake assembly with the bearing and re-secure the four bolts, possibly replacing them, and finally reassemble the wheel with the tire.
