In this video tutorial, see how to remove the battery in a Toyota Prius Hybrid in 5 minutes by following some simple steps: first, lower the rear seats and remove the cover and rear tray; take off the side panels of the carpet; disconnect the orange plug before working on the battery, as failing to do so and touching the high-voltage lines can be dangerous. Now, you need to remove the rear cover that conceals the battery, then remove the bolt and take off the two black covers. Using a 12 mm socket with an extension, unscrew the bolts securing the battery. Disconnect the battery cables; unscrew two more bolts that hold the battery tray, and do the same on the other side. Now, using a 10 mm socket, remove the securing elements of the tray and take off the orange clip, then remove the cover. Next, disconnect the two high-voltage lines using the 10 mm socket. You can now remove the battery by sliding it out and pulling it towards you.
