The aim of this short video is to determine if the heart of the starter motor (the part that spins) is functioning, even if the solenoid (the part that pushes) is broken. The positive cable is connected directly to the motor terminal, which goes directly to the battery to which the cable is attached. It provides power directly to the starter, bypassing any control circuit. The negative cable is connected to the metal body (ground), completing the circuit. If the starter is OK, you will not hear the typical "click" of the solenoid, as it is not being powered. You should see the starter spin very quickly; if this happens, it means the electrical part is in good condition. If it does not spin, the fault is internal to the starter.
