In this video we can see how to test a starter motor with external connection cables to the car. This video is focused only on testing the starter motor, without worrying about the operations that had to be carried out to remove this motor from the engine compartment of our car, which is not even mentioned. We start with the test of the solenoid, attaching it to the poles of a common battery, as shown in the video. If the solenoid starts when connecting the positive pole, then the starter motor is efficient. We then do the test of the starter motor: If we connect both terminals and apply a certain force to the positive terminal, then the starter motor should start, as it actually does.
