How to fix the carburetor float needle blockage in the car
Model: (Various brands) Various
Video tutorial
The causes of the fuel level gauge blockage are due to a problem with the float sensor located inside the tank. The gas tank is located under the rear seat and to open it we must remove the seat; after removing the rear seats, we place a plastic cover that can act as an insulator during the float removal as gasoline could spill onto the seat. We remove the cover by lifting the sides, using a flat screwdriver; to remove the float we must disconnect the connector and immediately lift the tube clamps using a flat screwdriver. Disconnect the tube and remove the float, placing it inside a container that can contain excess gasoline. The resistance sensor inside the float, at the top, is made up of many isolated plates while at the bottom there is a single plate. The two parts are kept in communication by a sliding contact positioned on the float lever. To measure the resistance, we must place the tester contacts on it. If the level is too low, it means that it is necessary to replace or clean the resistance. We then disconnect the bottom part and clean the sliding plates with WD40 spray and sandpaper. After cleaning the plates, we mount the support group on the float and solder the new wires. We test that the resistance level has risen using the tester and mount the float. We then insert the float into the tank and connect the tubes. Insert the clamps and connect the general connector. Close the tank cap and mount the seats only after cleaning the area thoroughly.
