The symptoms of a faulty driveshaft.

This video lists the main symptoms of a deteriorated half-shaft (or CV joint). The most common is the "clicking" noise when turning, especially when the steering wheel is fully turned (like in a parking lot). The side of the noise indicates which half-shaft is damaged. If we feel strong vibrations coming from the floor or the steering wheel, especially when accelerating, then this is another symptom. If we also hear a clunk during acceleration or deceleration, this is a symptom related to the half-shaft. If grease is leaking onto the wheel or under the car, it means that the boot protecting the joint is breaking, causing the lubricating grease to leak out, which will splatter onto the wheel, suspension arm, or ground. Once the grease is out, the joint is very vulnerable. In the most severe cases, with the joint destroyed, we might experience a loss of power to the affected wheel, enough to prevent the car from moving, and hear a loud noise of grinding metals.
