In this video, see the correct way to sew a leather steering wheel cover yourself: first, the thread should be doubled; then tie a knot and cut the thread close to it. Start by keeping the knot inside the leather and begin from the area closest to the spoke, wrapping the thread around the needle several times to make it stronger. Pull it tight. Insert the needle into the outer stitch, and with patience, continue point by point from one side to the other, creating a decorative zig-zag on the steering wheel. Always pull the thread tightly, as the leather needs to fit snugly. When you reach the next spoke, wrap the thread around the needle several times again as you did at the start, pass it through multiple times, and then cut it long enough to make a knot that you will push inside. Start again from the other spoke.
