How Steering and Power Steering Work

When the term "steering" is used, it is often limited to identifying just the steering wheel, ignoring that the system that gives direction to our vehicle consists of many more parts. Schematicly, the steering wheel, through a column, acts on the rack which, in turn, acts on arms that move the front wheels left and right. However, this direct action scheme can be physically demanding; for this reason, over the years, a support system has been developed, namely "power steering", which reduces the effort required to move the wheels, benefiting both driving and parking.
