Symptoms of a faulty accelerator pedal position sensor

In this video, we will see what are the symptoms of a faulty throttle position sensor: the sensor measures the position of the pedal and sends the data to the ECM which controls the throttle body. If it is faulty, the communication is interrupted. The most common symptom is the check engine light on. With a diagnostic tool, we will read the errors P2122; P2123; P2127; P2138. Then we have throttle hesitation; the driver feels a delay between pressing the pedal and the car's response. Another symptom is poor acceleration; the car feels weak, not receiving the correct signal from the ECU. If the ECU receives a signal it deems unreliable, it activates the safety mode, and the car becomes very slow, not exceeding 50 km/h and the transmission locks in second or third gear. The most serious case is the lack of response from the accelerator, and the car can only idle or stall.
