A specific product is used: Holts Gun Gum Flexiwrap, which is a self-adhesive band made of fibreglass impregnated with heat-resistant adhesive (Gun Gum), very suitable for repairing holes, cracks, or broken joints in exhaust pipes, even at high temperatures.

It has the advantage of not requiring welding, dries with the heat of the engine, and resists oil, water, and vibrations.

For application, clean the damaged area well with sandpaper and degreaser, then cut a piece of band sufficient to cover the damage with 2-3 turns, wrapping tightly around the pipe, overlapping the edges.

Press firmly to ensure the adhesive in the band adheres well. Start the engine and let the exhaust heat up for about fifteen minutes to activate the polymerisation.
