How to Remove a 100 Amp Fuse

Replacing a 100 Amp fuse is a very risky operation: it is a power fuse that protects important circuits, so before proceeding, ensure the engine is off, remove the key from the ignition, and make sure all electrical consumers are turned off. Completely disconnect the battery (both the negative and positive terminals). A 100 Amp fuse is not found in the mini fuse box but in the engine bay, among the main fuses, and is usually a 'blade' type and of 'maxi' or 'mega' size. It typically has a transparent window on top: if the metal strip inside is melted or burnt, the fuse needs replacing. If it does not come out, check for a locking mechanism. Replace it with an identical one, of the same type and amperage: never replace it with one of higher amperage, as this is extremely dangerous and can cause a fire: never repair such a fuse with aluminium wires or anything else! If the new fuse blows immediately, it indicates a serious fault in the circuit. In this case, the problem requires diagnosis by a professional.

How to Check the Oil Level on a Jeep Renegade?
