What do we need to know about the low-pressure pump in a common rail engine? Its main function is to draw diesel from the tank and then send it to the filter and the high-pressure pump, as well as to detect the diesel level; in fact, it also has a float function. Common issues include dirt accumulation in the tank, filter clogging, and of course, wear. As recommended in the video, it is a good idea to clean the pump every 2 years, especially since it is usually easily accessible by removing the rear seat.
