Be Careful When Installing Dash Cam Wires

Installing dash cam wires behind the airbags is dangerous, but unfortunately, it is a common mistake. A cable positioned in front of the side airbag can obstruct its deployment, causing the airbag to deploy violently and turning the cable into a projectile that flies into the cabin. It can also nullify the airbag's protection, putting the lives of those on board at risk. Additionally, the wires could pinch or damage the original wiring. Wires on the driver’s side should not always run through the pillar between the windscreen and door, but behind the rubber seals and plastic covers, avoiding the airbag. Therefore, avoid routing the wires through the pillar. If you have to force a panel or seal to pass the wire, that is a sign you are putting your hands in the wrong place. The same applies if you feel mechanical obstacles during routing (it could be the airbag module). Ensure that the wire does not form a taut bridge over an area with the "airbag" logo. It is better to leave a visible wire than to risk compromising a safety device.
