How to remove the fuel level sensor from a petrol tank
Model: (Various brands) Various
Video tutorial
The video shows the removal of the fuel level sensor (fuel sending unit) from the tank, but does not specify which vehicle it is: neither the car nor the make or model is ever shown. The procedure demonstrated is simple and takes only a few seconds: position yourself under the car (with the tank emptied), locate the retaining ring with its grooves and turn it counterclockwise using a screwdriver until it releases. Remove the ring and set it aside, then gently lift the sensor, taking care not to snag it on the edges, and finally extract the brass float. The visible clues (brass float, retaining ring) are common to many vehicles, especially older American cars, but do not allow for certain identification of the model.
