How to Repair the Accelerator Pedal

To repair the accelerator pedal, the first step is to open the cap; this allows you to see the issue with track 2. Sometimes the carbon at the top makes contact, and other times it does not. Next, open the slider, starting with the white cap, which you remove to access it with an 8 mm screwdriver. Unscrew it from the other side with a Torx screwdriver. Now gently pull out the slider. You will see that it only touches one contact in track 2. You need to turn the slider around and check the higher spring, clean it, and slightly raise it. You can then reassemble it. Be careful during reassembly as the slider must always start from the low position, so everything should be set to zero. Then you can lock it back in place just as you unlocked it, and then refit it in its position.
