Removing Accelerator Potentiometer

In the vehicle model examined (General Motors), the sensor is part of a complete pedal assembly. In some models, it is possible to replace only the sensor. The steps to follow are relatively simple and similar for all vehicles, but naturally, the position of the accelerator is difficult to reach. As a precaution, disconnect the battery, then use a flat screwdriver to remove the sensor connector and pull it out. The sensor, along with the pedal, is secured by two 10mm hex screws. A socket or ratchet will be needed to remove them. At this point, simply reverse the steps to install the new part and reconnect the battery.
