In this video, we can see how to disassemble the lock of the rear door of a Peugeot car in order to repair it. First, from the inside, we open it to lift the tailgate and then try to remove the cover that holds the plastic part to the metal part of the tailgate. Once the tailgate is split, we remove the lock screws, push it inward, and from the back, use our hand to remove the lock: we need to remove the electrical contacts and now we have the lock free to work on the workbench. We remove the fixing screws and access the lock mechanism. Here we find the damaged part. It is a metal component shaped like a "U", a piece that is not available in stores and that we will have to self-construct with a piece of wire, as we see in the video. Once the piece is realigned, we see that the lock starts working again. After verifying its functionality, we can close the cover and put the lock back in place. We reconnect the electrical connectors and reposition it in its housing. We reassemble the two halves of the rear tailgate. Operation completed.

How do I unlock the automatic transmission of the BMW 3 Series?
