How to Measure Battery Current Leakage

To measure battery leakage, first remove the negative terminal, then take your digital multimeter (an essential tool for DIY). Set the tester to measure amperage, connect the leads to the multimeter, one to the negative terminal and the other to the battery itself using some insulating tape. You may already find a small leakage. To identify the cause, check the fuse box, which is right next to it, or inside the cabin. Naturally, turning on the ignition will immediately show a consumption, as lights and indicators will be on. Check the fuses; remove them one at a time and see if the leakage decreases or disappears on the multimeter. Then you have found the culprit.
