How to Check the Hydraulic Lifters?

To check the hydraulic lifters, access the top of the engine block by removing the protective plastic cover. Once this is removed, unscrew the bolts securing the cylinder head, completely removing it to access the underlying components. At this point, rotate the crankshaft to make the lifters visible, checking that they operate correctly. Any faulty lifters should be replaced, reassembling all previously removed components.
