How to understand when the DPF is regenerating

In this video we can discover three signals to understand when the particulate filter of our car is regenerating, in order not to interrupt the procedure. We know that it is a procedure that is only carried out with the engine warm: we see in the video that the difference is no more than a hundred revolutions, with a duller and deeper sound; the difference in noise is very noticeable and the youtuber makes us hear it; a second characteristic is the cooling fan on, at a very characteristic medium speed; the third detail is realized when we turn off the car, therefore with regeneration aborted, but this will help us for the next times; it is a whistle that means the regeneration was in progress, and it is felt very well even from inside the car. If the regeneration is aborted too many times in a row, the warning light will come on and it will no longer be possible to do it until the anomaly is reset, which can be done through the EOBD port. Remember that it is possible to install a LED that lights up when the regeneration is in progress, even if doing it when we are in a populated area - perhaps - is not very advisable. It is also possible to force the regeneration to do it when we are sure to do it safely, but it is a very technical system (the youtuber does not explain the empirical one).
