The YouTuber explains how he managed to drive over 200,000 kilometers without issues with the DPF: the first precaution is at the time of purchase. A diesel should only be bought if you know you'll be driving many kilometers, especially on fast roads. If we use it in the city, we are condemning ourselves to a problematic vehicle, as we will easily interrupt the regeneration process. But how can we know when regeneration occurs if we don't have indicators to signal it? There are still some clues: the engine revving, a slight smell of burnt oil, the fan starting seemingly for no reason. When we notice these clues, we shouldn't stop, but head towards a clear road and drive a few kilometers at a speed between 70 and 80 km/h. As a preventive measure, we can use additives that clean the DPF, which we will mix with the diesel, and the engine oil must always be kept in check, so we shouldn't trust what the manufacturer tells us: every 10,000 km, the oil must be changed to avoid contamination. Then, every now and then, keep the engine lively for a few kilometers. This will also help clean the DPF.
