Removing the noisy pulley from the Volkswagen T5 requires some attention: First, disconnect the battery, then remove the timing belt to create a working space. Insert a T50 Torx into the inner shaft to lock it in place and use a 24mm wrench on the outer side: the thread is right-handed, so it unscrews counterclockwise. If the bolt is very stuck, use a longer wrench or modify an existing one, and help yourself with moderate heat. We can use the "rope method," initially loosening it with the wrench; wrap the rope around the wrench and pull it to rotate quickly (after it has been loosened, not for the initial unscrewing). Remove the nut, slide off the old pulley, clean the shaft, install the new pulley at 80 Nm, check that it rotates freely on one side and locks on the other; reassemble the belt and reconnect the battery.
