How to Remove the Climatronic Control Unit from a Volkswagen Golf MK7

Let's see how to remove the climatronic control unit from the Volkswagen Golf VII: using a plastic tool, remove the trim surrounding the unit; this way, you will see the control unit fixed to the dashboard with expansion rivets, which you will pull out. At this point, you can slide the control unit out of the dashboard towards you. Now, you just need to disconnect the electrical connectors located on the back of the unit, and the control unit is completely removed. When installing the control unit (whether new or used), you will need to perform a series of procedures with the VCDS diagnostics to transfer the coding from the old unit and teach the end stops of the flap motors, so the new control unit understands the positions of all the vents, as well as perform the first start-up of the compressor.
