Where is the engine control unit located in the Volkswagen Golf?

Model: Volkswagen Golf MK 5, Golf 5, Golf V - Years 2003-2008

In this video we can see where the engine control unit is located in the Volkswagen Golf and how to proceed in case we need to replace it. As shown, the control unit in question is located inside the engine compartment, precisely in front of the windshield in the central area. To access it, we first open the hood, then remove the transverse plastic cover and disconnect the various indicated wiring. We then unscrew the two fixing bolts of the front partition with a 13mm wrench, disconnect the control unit from the support and remove it from the housing. To install the replacement, simply follow the reverse procedure.
