How to Replace the ECU in a Volkswagen Golf?

First, ensure that the key is not inserted, then open the bonnet and locate the rectangular box situated right in front of the battery. Next, disconnect the two large side connectors, unclip the upper plastic cover, and remove the ECU from its housing. To fit the replacement and reassemble everything, simply follow the reverse procedure. Depending on its condition, the new ECU may need to be configured or fully programmed.
