How to Replace the Central Locking Control Unit on a Volkswagen Golf 5?

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf V, MK 5, Golf 5 - Years 2003-2008
Part: Checks and maintenance

The central locking control unit on the Volkswagen Golf 5 is located inside the cabin: to access it, various parts of the dashboard must be removed. To remove these dashboard parts, loosen the screws securing the glove compartment, centre console, and front panel. The control unit will be located near the boot area, on the left side of its housing. It should be pulled out carefully, ensuring the connectors are properly detached. Once removed, it can be replaced with a new one, and all previously removed parts can be reassembled.
