How to Remove the Glove Compartment from a Volkswagen Golf MK7

Here’s how to remove the glove compartment from a Volkswagen Golf MK7: open the glove compartment and observe the retaining pins. On either side of the compartment, near the hinge, you will see two plastic pins that hold the compartment to the dashboard. Using a medium flat screwdriver, press the two pins inward simultaneously; some force will be required. Once the pins are pressed and released, the glove compartment will be free. Pull it towards you firmly to detach it completely from the dashboard. There are no screws to remove, and to reinstall, simply align the compartment and push it back into the dashboard until you hear the two pins click into place.
