In this video we can see where the control unit is located in the Volkswagen Golf and how to access it, useful in case we need to replace it. As shown, the control unit is located inside the engine compartment, specifically below the lower edge of the windshield. To access it, we will first need to remove both windshield wipers, and then remove the entire transverse plastic cover. The control unit is secured to the frame with two nuts, which need to be unscrewed using a wrench. Once this is done, it will be possible to remove it from the housing and disconnect the side connectors.
