Where is the ECU Located in the Volkswagen Golf?

In this video, you can see where the ECU is located in the Volkswagen Golf and how to proceed if you need to remove it, for example, due to a fault. As shown, it is located inside the engine bay, precisely in the central area where it meets the windscreen. To access and subsequently remove it, first remove the engine cover, then move the gasket and take off the entire cross panel. At this point, disconnect both connectors by releasing the respective clips and extract the ECU from its housing.
