How to reset the Climatronic on the Volkswagen Golf?

Model: Volkswagen Golf MK 5, Golf 5, Golf V - Years 2003-2008

On the Volkswagen Golf, the installed Climatronic can be reset by turning on the instrument cluster, inserting the key into the ignition and turning it. Once the instrument cluster is on, press and hold the A/C button and the button to direct airflow to the face. You will notice that the lights on the climate control buttons will start to flash; once they become solid, you can release both buttons, and the Climatronic settings will be reset.
