How to Replace the Timing Belt on a Volkswagen Polo

Start by opening the bonnet to access the engine bay. Next, remove the upper engine cover by unscrewing the bolts that secure it. This will give you access to the engine. Proceed to loosen the tensioner to slacken the timing belt. Once the tensioner is loosened, you can remove the timing belt. To fit the new timing belt, follow these steps in reverse, except for the last step; before repositioning and securing the tensioner, align the timing belt with its guide, and you will have completed the replacement.
