Today's cars have computers that facilitate driving and effectively check the correct functioning of the engine and everything connected to it. Through an external computer it is possible to check all the parameters and intervene in case of malfunction. For this operation, a special software program called VCDS is required, capable of physically connecting to the vehicle's control unit and reading the data via the appropriate menus, thus allowing parameters to be displayed and reprogrammed. The operation, however simple, requires adequate technical preparation and instrumentation.

How to reset the on-board computer of the Peugeot 208?

Resetting the Peugeot 208's on-board computer, the system called SMEG, is very simple. We can do this in case the system shows signs of malfunction, freezes, or in any other case where a restart could solve the problem. To reboot, simply hold down the two keys located in the lower left corner of the computer at the same time. After a few seconds, the SMEG system display will switch off, the Peugeot logo will appear and the start-up procedure will start. We wait patiently for the restart to complete as it may take some time.
