How to Reset the Service Light on a Golf 4

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf IV, MK 4, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003

As usual, before starting any maintenance operation on a car, ensure your Volkswagen Golf is stable and secure to guarantee the operator's safety. Position the car on a flat surface or on a ramp. Now, do not turn on the ignition; instead, press the button/dial located at the bottom right of the instrument panel. Hold this button while simultaneously turning on the ignition. Release the button as soon as the word "Service" appears on the display. At this point, turn the dial/button (located at the bottom left of the panel) clockwise until the car's mileage reappears on the display. Now, turn off the ignition, and that’s it! To verify the service reset, simply turn the ignition back on and check the display.
