How to Replace the Reverse Light Bulb on a Volkswagen Golf

Model: Volkswagen Golf MK 5, Golf 5, Golf V - Years 2003-2008

Start by opening the rear boot lid and moving the carpet near the light to be removed. This will expose the two plastic bolts securing the lamp to the car. Proceed to unscrew and remove these bolts using a 13mm spanner. Once done, you can pull the light out of its housing just enough to disconnect the connector. After disconnecting the electrical connector, you can remove the light and work on it without obstruction. Next, remove the bulb holder plate by unclipping the clips securing it. This will give you access to the bulbs. To remove the blown reverse bulb, simply rotate it counter-clockwise by 90 degrees and pull it out. To fit the new bulb and close everything up, just follow the steps in reverse, and you will have successfully completed the replacement.
