Volkswagen Passat - Video tutorial
Model: Volkswagen Passat
3BG, B5
- Years 1996-2005 In this video the coolant temperature sensor is changed to a Volkswagen Passat. It is not a very simple operation since the sensor is positioned in a position that is not very easy to reach. Once the sensor has been identified, the clamps placed around the liquid pipe must be removed with pliers or a screwdriver. Now you can detach the intake manifold cover with your hands. There is still a cable that covers the view of the sensor: let's move it not before having unhooked the clips that hold it in place. Now it is necessary, with a screwdriver, to unhook the horseshoe clips that support the sensor. With a little effort you can free the sensor which remains attached only via the electrical connection. Unhook it from it too by pressing the clip on the connector. Keep the O-ring from the old sensor and get a new one. Position it as before by affixing the horseshoe clip and connecting it to the connector. Reassemble everything as before.
