To replace the third brake light bulb on a Volkswagen Golf, use a lever tool to extract the light unit from its housing. Once the light unit is completely removed, disconnect the connector at the back and remove it entirely. At this point, you can either remove the bulb from inside or replace the entire light unit. The new unit can then be connected to the appropriate connector and inserted back into its housing, ensuring that the bulb functions correctly.
