Learn how to change the battery in the key for the Golf VIII. The small side button is used to release the keyring flap. Pull it further, and you will discover that the keyring flap is connected to the emergency key, which is present in almost all electronic key remotes. The physical key also activates a small button located approximately halfway through its compartment, which helps to release the plastic "body" of the remote. Use your finger to disengage all the plastic pins on the side of the body to expose the battery, which is a common CR 2032, available for a few pounds at the newsagent or supermarket. After replacing it (pay attention to the polarity), simply reassemble the plastic and reinsert the emergency key. Job done.
